Polystyrene is an ideal base material for various craft projects. It can be worked on in many ways, such as painting, gluing, using serviette and sequin techniques, or as a base for mosaic artworks. Polystyrene is also a perfect carrier for texture pastes. When painting and spraying, it is advisable to apply a primer first, depending on the chosen paint, as the paint will otherwise eat into the polystyrene. When gluing with hot glue, a low-temperature glue gun should also be chosen.
